Axlor Consulting provided a range of services supporting the Department of Justice in the $5.15 billion settlement with Anadarko Petroleum Corporation.

Today, the United States entered into a settlement agreement with Kerr-McGee Corporation and affiliates, and the parent Anadarko Petroleum Corporation in a fraudulent conveyance matter brought by the United States and the litigation trust that resulted from the Tronox Inc. bankruptcy. The $5.15 billion settlement includes $4.4 billion for environmental clean-up, which is the largest payment for the clean-up of environmental contamination in history. Dr. Greg Brusseau assisted the Department of Justice with several aspects of the 2010 global environmental bankruptcy settlement with Tronox Inc., including estimating future liabilities at contaminated sites, evaluating related economic issues, and participating in settlement discussions. For the litigation with Anadarko Petroleum Corporation and associated entities, Dr. Brusseau and Axlor Consulting continued to provide support, focusing on the evaluation of experts at trial and other aspects of litigation risk.
