Axlor Consulting performs insurance allocation modeling and other analytical services in a case involving asbestos-related claims, facilitating a quick and favorable settlement for the client.

Dr. Greg Brusseau evaluated past asbestos-related claims, forecasted the timing and magnitude of future claims, and prepared a complicated litigation risk assessment model for an insurance company that led to a favorable, confidential settlement. Dr. Brusseau worked closely with client counsel to translate detailed legal research into a litigation risk assessment model integrating a range of claim value estimates under a variety of circumstances (including the appropriate distribution of costs), possible allocation outcomes based on laws from three states, scenarios addressing contribution reallocation, and other factors to determine an expected value for resolving the case and a range of outcomes. Having a favorable reputation with parties on both sides of the negotiation, Dr. Brusseau’s work supported discussions which resulted in a settlement achieved in a single negotiation session.
